You have an iCal Calender that you want to share but you don't want or have an expensive .Mac account, what do you do? (Hopefully) This tutorial will teach you how to do this so you can share you calenders with other people.

The first step is to set up a calender that you want to share with other people. This (of course) was done with iCal. Click any of the images for full size.

iCal
The next step is to go to iCalx and set up a free account. The reasons iCalx is used is it has the WebDAV that is needed to share and run iCal calenders. With out this calender sharing wouldn't work.

The Real Reason The RIAA Sucks - Its Run By a Women

Every one has heard of the RIAA (Record Industry Association of America) knows that it is not the best organisation in tho world. All it seems to do is sue people for sharing music that they probably never owned or heard of. Well it may come as a shock to you but the organisation is run by a women.

The president of the RIAA is Hilary Rosen. This is more trouble than it worth. For example
Sir Patrick Moore said in this article, that "British TV standards are deteriorating because the BBC is "run by women"". Would the RIAA be different if it was run by a man. Would unnecessary lawsuits disappear and instead they would focus and getting music to users instead of tightening DRM measures and making it more and more restrictive. We would have to wonder.

Now I am all for women in power but I do think that they may not always bring the best views to the table. If you would like to share your views please leave a comment.

8 Blogger Improvements

I use Blogger all the time and I think its great. But there are some improvements that could make it a lot better.

1) Spell Checking in Title

This should be an improvement because there are so many time that I have posted and there has been a small spelling mistake and as a result I have to go back and change it. A small line of code would make so much difference in a post if it would spell check it.

2) Autosave

This feature way already be implemented but it would have a piece of mind if there was an indication that the post was saved. It is very frustrating when your computer crashes and you lose a past that you have been working on for the last half hour.

3) AutoFormat

This improvement would automatically change letters such as "i" into a capital. As well as changing the first letter in a sentence to a capital.

4) Responsiveness

The service may be great but there are sometimes when Blogger is just plain slow. For example adding an image can take for ever. If Blogger was sped up a bit this would be a great improvement.

5) More Template Functionality

This improvement would enable advance tweaking to the CSS and template without the need for looking through the template. Probably for advance users but it would help improve layouts.

6) More Widgets

This is more of a content feature. But there would be more widgets to add to your template.

7) Adsense Widget

This widget would be a lot better if it interfaced into your Adsense account more. For example channels , saved colour scheme. This improvement would make the widget better.

8) Able to Place Widgets Between Posts

Instead of having to place code manually in the template there should be an extra area to place widgets, this would be especially made for the Adsense widget.

Why Don't Bittorrent Trackers Use IP Blocklist

Hey

As I looked at all the lawsuits that seemed to be brought against people for sharing information on Bittorrent and other P2P networks. I was wondering why Bittorrent trackers don't use IP blocking.

For example, Peer Guardian offers a program that blocks IP addresses from connecting to your computer and vice versa. As well as this I also know that Bittorrent trackers have the ability to block IP's for various reasons (Eg, Bad Seeding, Bad Upload ratio etc). How come then these trackers don't implement the Peer Guardian block list into the tracker. This would stop people IP addresses being snooped in alleged file sharing scandals. As the snooper could not connect to the tracker network. This could solve the problem.

Of course this would just create a round robin of different IP to add to the tracker that these companies use, as well as this it would probably put tremendous strain on the tracker as it would have to manage every IP address. There would probably be a limit as well.

End note: I do not support illegal file sharing, this was just an idea that popped into my head.

Are you a "Wilfer"

Are you a "Wilfer"?

A wilf stands for "What was I looking for?" which basically means the process of going online and getting distracted. For example you go online, log in, and get distracted vistiting different links on different pages totally unrelated to the content you were looking for. Most of the time people end up on Wikipedia.
A Scottish poll (YouGov) claims that more than 60% of the Scottish admit to browsing aimlessly online. That's a lot of time and productivity wasted.

So the warning is stay focused. Or you could end up being sucked into the time wasting vortex or the Internet.
